Why I'm Running

COMMUNICATION. COLLABORATION. COMMUNITY.

After a year of important and heartfelt discussions along with recent support from many of you in our Little City community, I am proud to run for Falls Church City School Board on November 2, and I am eager to earn your support!  I’m running on principles based in communication, collaboration, and community.  Creating a culture of caring is of upmost importance as we rebuild after a difficult year.

This past year was challenging, and decisions were difficult, whether you were speaking through the lens of a student, parent, teacher or administrator.  I will be a thoughtful and reasonable voice in these uncertain times as we navigate ahead together.  I am a good listener, a critical thinker, and look forward to reconnecting with many of you (I am grateful to be fully vaccinated!) as well as meet those of you I have not yet met.

As our community opens up after over a year of struggle, I want to ensure that our schools continue to remain open to our families and teachers in a safe and responsible way, and that our children feel secure receiving additional resources needed to continue personal growth to become the best versions of themselves. It is crucial that our parents and teachers have an authentic voice and that everyone receives the respect they deserve.  I promise I will always have an open-door policy.  Understanding that everyone may not agree on every issue, please know that I will consider all information, listen to all voices, and my final views will always come from being committed to do what is right for our children.

I am proud to be running for School Board, and I look forward to engaging with you around our Little City!

MEET LORI

Since moving here in 2016, I’ve been a member of our amazing community.

I am a homeowner, taxpayer, self-employed consultant, and a mother to a son and daughter - one a rising third grader, and the other a rising kindergartener. I’m excited and welcome this opportunity to grow as a more involved community member.
